FAQ

Common Issues

  1. I meet the system requirements but I am still unable to play.

In order to play all the games on netgames.us you need to have a number of plugins intalled on your computer. The games usually work fine on a PC running Windows but if you are experiencing problems try downloading and installing  Adobe Shockwave Player   Unity 3D Player

     Adobe Flash Player

For most game errors, there are a couple of steps available that will alleviate the trouble. If you are having trouble:

    1) Clear your browser cache on any browser

         http://bit.ly/4jFDgf

    2) Clear your Java cache

         http://bit.ly/wqX3

Once you've performed all the steps above, close all your browser windows. Once all your browsers have been closed, restart them, and go back to the game you were playing.

  2. My computer is telling me a game has a Virus or Trojan? What do I do?

Some antivirus or personal firewall applications incorrectly identify our products as viruses and disrupt or block the software from downloading or registering. Please be assured that products that come from netgames.us are virus free.

Our games are rigorously tested prior to release and are guaranteed virus and spyware free. Internet security applications including virus scanners, firewalls, and spyware blockers may sometimes give a false reading which can interfere with our software activation process. Our games are rigorously tested prior to release and are guaranteed virus and spyware free. Internet security applications including virus scanners, firewalls, and spyware blockers may sometimes give a false reading which can interfere with our software activation process. To resolve this issue, you may temporarily disable your security application, such as your firewall or anti-virus program, until you have successfully downloaded, installed and activated your game. If you do, we strongly recommend that you re-enable your security software immediately afterwards.

  3. This game is too slow on my computer.

Unfortunately, some computer specifications and video card combinations may not work with certain games.

Please do the following if you meet the system requirements and a game is going slow: 1. Turn off any programs that are not in use.

    2. Update any video card drivers available. How to Update video card drivers http://bit.ly/SqW9p

  4. I see a red X when I launch the game.

Some members will see a Red X where a game should be running. This happens when a small piece of software provided by the game publisher is not installed. These little programs are called Active X controls. When you see a Red X you need to do the following to get the game running:

    1) Close down your browsers (and the AOL client)

    2) Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files

    3) Find all non-Java labeled files

    4) Right-click it and select "Remove" for each

    5) Open up Internet Explorer or AOL and try to run the game again.

  5. I forgot my username / password. How do I recover my login information?

Enter the email address you signed up with to receive your password

  6. Is it safe to log in to Facebook through another site?

Facebook has enabled third-party websites to use Facebook’s login and authentication system through a program called Facebook Connect. Facebook Connect allows users to take their Facebook identity, network, and privacy settings with them as they browse and interact with the rest of the Web. Connect-enabled sites often provide an option to log in to Facebook directly from the site itself. When you see this, you should make sure that the login opens in a separate browser pop-up window, and that the Web address (URL) for the pop-up contains the proper "http://www.facebook.com" domain. If it does, you’ll know that it’s a legitimate Facebook page and not a phishing attempt, and you can log in safely and securely. Note: if you’re logged in to Facebook, the Facebook Connect partner site should only ask you to "authorize" that site.

  7. How does privacy work with Facebook Connect sites?

When you connect with a website, it can access information you’ve added through Facebook to allow you to interact with your friends in new and interesting ways. The Platform Developer Terms of Service restrict how these sites can access this information, and all sites are contractually obligated to respect the privacy settings you’ve chosen for your account. These are the same terms that developers who have created the applications you use on Facebook must follow.

This means that if you’ve blocked a user on Facebook, that user will not be able to see you on a "connected" site. When other users connect with a website, those users will not be able to see information you’ve added through Facebook that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to see simply by browsing Facebook. You can decide what types of information your friends’ applications can access from the "Applications and Websites" section on the Privacy Settings page.

System Requirements

  1. What if I have an older version of Flash?

Many site features require Flash 8, without it users will not be able to play brand new games, Audio Player visualizations, or Chat. There is a pretty good chance you'll still be able to view many Much Games games and movies, but an increasing number of submissions take advantage of newer Flash features. Do yourself a favor and upgrade now.

  2. How do I know if I have the correct version of Javascript?

Most browsers ship with Javascript enabled. If it has been disabled for some reason, then critical site features – such as Flash submissions, review and comment forms, and even the login fields at the top of every page – will not work. Users can check their browsers' settings to make sure Javascript is enabled.

  3. Why should I make sure cookies are enabled?

This site uses browser cookies to keep users logged in as they jump from page to page, and for other small tasks such as displaying the last time a user visited the Much Games Forums.

  4. Why does my computer need to have the correct date and time?

Changing the date or time on your computer may affect the cookies used by this site by causing them to expire prematurely, and could potentially cause login errors.
